Frequently Asked Diamond Questions

Do more facets make a diamond more brilliant?

Do more colours make a painting more beautiful? It is not how many colours but how they are displayed that make a painting truly beautiful. Likewise, it is not how many facets are on a diamond but how they are arranged that make it truly brilliant. For each additional series of facets added to a diamond, the chances of light leakage also goes up exponentially. For this reason, only a few discerning multi-facetted diamonds have proved themselves to actually enhance a diamond's light return.

Are all diamond shapes priced the same?

As of 2011, the traditional round brilliant cut has increased in value significantly more than other diamond cuts. Primarily due to fluctuations in supply and demand, this has allowed for great prices to be had on princess cuts.

Are your diamonds conflict-free?

Heinrichs Jewellery has a policy of only purchasing conflict-free diamonds. Every diamond Heinrichs purchases follows the United Nations endorsed Kimberley Process which was designed to halt the flow of conflict diamonds.

Do Canadian diamonds cost more than others?

Not at Heinrichs Jewellery. We are fortunate to be able to purchase Canadian diamonds directly from the cutters and in large enough volume so as to avoid having to charge any premiums.

Where can I buy a Saskatchewan diamond?

As of 2011, Saskatchewan diamonds are not yet available to the public. Heinrichs Jewellery being a Saskatchewan owned and operated company, is excited and following this prospect closely. Current estimates place production starting in 2017 and ending in 2036.
